I scrapped the piano. It took me over two hours to undo the bolts and screws and remove the different sections piece by piece (eventually resorting to a crowbar) and I later learned there are over TWELVE THOUSAND parts to a piano. The piano is so complex. There must be very few people on this planet who understand not only the component parts but also how to create masterpieces. Of course no one is born with the skill to master EVERY aspect of the piano; it takes hours of practice. But how do we know the habits we practice are the right things? To master the piano and accelerate to the very top of masterpiece creation it would be necessary to invest maximum focus, energy, time and money into:
It is not possible to create a masterpiece without these things. We could not possibly expect to MASTER something so complex as the piano without understanding in as much detail as possible how it works, what habits to practise and learn from the very best people at the top of their game.
Now re-read this post and replace 'the piano' with the words 'my mind.' Whatever the masterpiece is that you want to create - a successful business, a political career, the dream job - it is not possible to create this masterpiece in our lives, without gaining the best possible, deeper understanding of how our own, unique minds work. Then we can eliminate the bad memories and habits, leverage the good ones, create new ones and get on with the job creating our masterpiece without delay. Now is the time.
